Sports Day

On Thursday 12th July the whole school was engaged in the school's sports day -held this year at the Hereford Leisure Centre. The day had threatened to be damp and overcast with the initial races run in light drizzle. However, as if reflecting the the heating up of the competition the day eventually broke into a bright and sunny afternoon.

There were many highlights on both the field and track with many athletes taking the opportunity to demonstrate their talents. Participation was a major theme of the day and all the Heads of House were delighted in the way pupils willingly took part in the competition to score points for the overall house event; which this year was won by Stuart House.

The day's success can be attributed to the good humour displayed by all pupils; the success of Mr Morgan's 'Pig Roast' -coordinated by the school monitors- and most importantly to the volunteer staff who made the day run smoothly with minimal overt organisation. Special mentions for endurance must go to Mr Wilkes, the official school's starter, and Mr Crowhurst for his entertaining 'banter' as the host of the day.
